The school doesn't have an official mascot. The unofficial mascot is a bear, sometimes named "Touchdown." In 2004, Cornell University opened the Weill Medical College in Education City, Qatar. It was the first American medical school outside the US. There are many notable Cornell alumni, from Janet Reno and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to Christopher Reeve to Toni Morrison.
