Median salaries vary depending on the specific profession, but most people who work in the juvenile justice system will make between $20-25,000 a year. If you work your way to superintendent of a facility you can make up to $80,000 a year.

While other positions require research in topics like deviance and criminology in order to figure out what goes on in the mind of kids who commit or could commit crimes. Currently researchers of juvenile justice are worried about the gap closing between juvenile justice and criminal justice that has occurred in the last 20 years.

Classes needed to complete the degree can include, but are not limited to, criminal justice, sociology, deviance, communication courses and math courses.

Jobs in criminal justice include counselor, organizational and evaluation services, director of programs, professor, detective and field investigator.
