Easy Admission Physician Assistant Programs
Becoming a physician assistant is a challenging and rewarding experience that ultimately pays off in the long run. For those who wish to dedicate their lives to the service of others while performing a job that requires a large intellectual capacity of mathematics and health sciences, getting a foot in the door in this field can seem pretty intimidating. Many programs require that students have immaculate grade point averages, experience working within the field, and many other diverse and impressive qualities.
Although, many students entering their first year of college are unaware of which direction to take until it’s too late and they no longer qualify for these types of programs. If you’re one of these students that struggled through their first years of college and have grades that aren’t up to par with the many prestigious PA programs out here, there is still hope! Luckily, there are hundreds of different PA programs to choose from, and not all requirements are as steep as the rest. Listed below are the easiest physician assistant schools to get into.
- University of Oklahoma Tulsa
While many PA programs require an entrance exam such as a GRE or MCAT, the University of Oklahoma Tulsa does not. This university only requires an overall GPA of 2.75 and 3 letters of recommendation. They offer a great program and a diverse course selection.
- Western University of Health Sciences
Located in Pomona, California, this PA program strives to create high-quality and competent physician assistants and prepare them for the field of medicine. Although many PA programs require that students have work experience within the medical field, this program does not. The program requires students to have a minimum GPA of 2.7 and 2 letters of recommendation.
- Howard University
This historical university located in the District of Columbia offers an excellent PA program that focuses on offering students the opportunity to develop and create skills that will enhance their work ethic and ability in the medical and health field. Their program requires that students have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 3 letters of recommendation. Experience in the health field is preferred, but not required for the program.
- Rochester Institute of Technology
This is a great program for students looking to relocate as this program is closely linked to the Rochester healthcare community. It is a school specifically designed for health sciences and provides in-depth course framework to guide students into their career as a physician assistant. The minimum GPA requirement is 3.0 with a requirement of 2 letters of recommendation.
- Duquesne University
Located in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, the Duquesne PA program prepares students to provide primary healthcare among urban and rural communities. This program requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and 2 letters of recommendation.
Most PA programs require that students take a GRE entrance exam, obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and possess some type of work experience within the medical industry. While these characteristics are preferred, the schools listed above do not request that students obtain any of these requirements.
